Celebrate the Christmas Holiday at Walt Disney World

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I enjoy the lights, the music, the holiday spirit and of course the food. I had the privilege of spending a week last December at the Walt Disney World Resort. I have been several times before but I have to say this was my favorite time by far. This trip combined two of my favorite things…. Christmas and Disney World. If you get a chance to visit during this time, here are a few things that I would suggest.

1. Candlelight Processional with a Dinner Package at Epcot. The Candlelight Processional has a Celebrity Narrator that tells the story of the birth of Christ, along with a 50-Piece orchestra and mass choir performing beautiful music. The celebrity narrators include Neil Patrick Harris, Meredith Vieria, Whoopi Goldberg and Cal Ripken Jr. Mom and I had seventeen Restaurants to choose from for Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We decided on Teppan Edo, in the Japan Pavilion. It was an excellent choice. We chose an appetizer, entrée or combination, along with dessert. The chef cooks right at our table and they add in some magical touches. The food was absolutely delicious. They will give you your Candlelight Processional admission ticket at the end of your meal.

If you want to take part of this, I do highly recommend doing this package. This guarantees your admittance into the Candlelight Processional. The prices for lunch range from $39-$69 per person and for Dinner, $51-$76.50 per person. They have this on select nights. A park ticket to Epcot is required for admittance.

2. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at The Magic Kingdom. Celebrate with Mickey with live entertainment, spectacular fireworks and a holiday parade. Enjoy this special ticketed event with Mickey and his friends dressed in the Christmas attire. There are surprised guests there to see you including Snow White, Dopey, Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket. You will hear your favorite characters singing the holiday carols and you will see the beauty of the Cinderella Castle as it glows with enchanting illuminations. Did I mention that you will see snow? You can purchase special shirts and pins for your lanyards at the party. They have this on select nights and this is a special ticketed event, so make sure you purchase this ahead of time.

3. Disney Springs gets in the holiday spirit too. If you love looking at lights that twinkle, a beautiful tree and all the holiday décor while you shop for Christmas gifts or want to get a bite to eat, this is the place to be. Enjoy listening to carolers singing, live holiday music and costumed performers. This is a great place to get into the Christmas spirit.

4. Don’t forget the four Theme parks. They are decorated from top to bottom with Holiday lights, wreaths and special touches. Holidays around the world at Epcot was absolutely enjoyable. I loved seeing the differences in the decor and festivities walking from one country to the next. When you The Magic Kingdom can’t be more magical, they surprise you again. You will feel like a you are in the middle of a Christmas movie while you walk down Mainstreet USA.
