Pixar Fest At Disneyland and Disney California Adventure

Pixar Fest is a special event going on now through September 3rd at Disneyland Resort in California. There are special events, parades, food, merchandise and more and we were lucky enough to be there on opening day! Let’s take a look at all of the fun, special offerings.

Disneyland was looking amazing and festive with all of the special Pixar décor!

Disneyland The Pixar Play Parade: This parade is returning with some brand new floats, including the Pixar Lamp and Ball, and adorable Inside Out themed float with Joy, Sadness and an new Up float as well!

“Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” is a brand new fireworks and projection spectacular that features Buzz Lightyear as he flies over Sleeping Beauty castle. Disney brings their movies to life with projections on the Main Street storefronts, the Matterhorn, It’s a Small World and the Rivers of America. We saw this show right on Main Street USA and it was an adorable show with lots of surprise touches.

Disney California Adventure Paint the Night Parade returns nightly and this is an amazing parade that is not to be missed. We miss having a nighttime parade at Disney World so it was so much fun to see Paint the Night!

Special meet and greet area at Paradise Gardens with rotating characters including: Jessie, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Dug and Russell, Mike and Sulley, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible with Frozone and Flik and Princess Atta.

Pixar Shorts Film Festival: Head over to Hollywood Land to watch some of Pixar’s most popular shorts in 3D. These rotate based on date and play throughout the day. Be sure to check times guides at the park as you enter. There are so many special merchandise items to buy! A few of our favorites are the Sulley popcorn bucket, Mike Wazowski sipper cup and the alien cup, which glows in the dark!

Special Food: We wish that we could have eaten all of the food! But a few of our favorites were:

Berry Funnel Cake inspired by Toy Story at Stage Door Café at Disneyland: House- made funnel cake topped with strawberries, blueberries, chocolate cookie crumbles, crème anglaise, white chocolate and gold-dusted whipped cream.

Pizza Port in Tomorrowland has been temporarily converted to Pizza Planet and has Green Pesto Pasta and these adorable Alien Macrons that you must get for the pictures alone.

Cove Bar is one of our favorite places to eat at Disney California Adventure and although it will be closing and turning into Lamplight Lounge for Pixar Pier’s opening, it is currently temporarily open until May 10th. If you can make it there before then, grab the Tuna Poke.

Coco Churro inspired by, of course, Coco at the Frontierland churro cart in Disneyland: Chocolate and vanilla bean dusted and salted cinnamon sugar and served with a spiced Mexican chocolate dipping sauce. Having a Disneyland churro is a must!

Three-Flavored Corn Dogs inspired by The Incredibles at Corn Dog Castle in California Adventure: One spicy hot link, one pepper jack cheese and one Cajun chicken sausage with sweet and spicy blackberry sauce.
